چکیده

Electrical and magnetic transitions in Pr1−x Srx MnO3 and Pr1−x Srx Mn0.95Fe0.05O3 ceramic samples with x = 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 have been investigated. It is proved that 5% Fe doping in the system suppresses electrical conduction and ferromagnetism severely, but favours antiferromagnetism. The existence of spin clusters at temperatures above the ferromagnetic transition TC is demonstrated in the Fe-doped x = 1/2 sample, which is caused by the Fe-doping-induced magnetic inhomogeneity. The transport behaviour above TC in this sample is governed by variable-range hopping of the magnetic polarons. For the Fe-doped x = 1/4 sample, the insulator-to-metal (I–M) transition drops behind TC by nearly 80 K; accordingly, two magnetoresistance peaks appear. One is around TC, and the other lies just at the I–M transition temperature. The possible underlying mechanism is discussed qualitatively. We report a study of polycrystalline samples of the family La 1-x Cd x MnO 3+δ with different percentage of Mn 4+ ions. X-rays diffraction, Iodometric titration, Raman, Magnetic and Electrical Resistivity measurements provide a general characterisation of the physical properties. Results are qualitatively similar to the ones found in Ca doped manganese perovskites. The substitution of divalent ...

Effects of Fe doping in

The effect of Fe doping in the Mn site on the magnetic, transport and structural properties of polycrystalline La 1/2 Ca 1/2 MnO 3 was studied. Doping with low Fe concentration (< 10%) strongly affects electrical transport and magnetization. Long range charge order is disrupted even for the lowest doping level studied (~2%). For Fe concentration up to 5% a ferromagnetic state develops at low te...

Suppression of Sr surface segregation in La(1-x)Sr(x)Co(1-y)Fe(y)O(3-δ): a first principles study.

Based on systematic first principles calculations, we investigate Sr surface segregation (SSS) in La(1-x)Sr(x)Co(1-y)Fe(y)O(3-δ) (LSCF) (a typical perovskite ABO(3) compound), a bottleneck causing efficiency degradation of solid oxide fuel cells. We identify two basic thermodynamic driving forces for SSS and suggest two possible ways to suppress SSS: applying compressive strain and reducing sur...
